Week #10

This week’s half share includes: carrots, head lettuce, celery, purple cabbage, zucchini, cucumber, tomato, onion, and potatoes.

Summer is a time for salads. This crisp, fresh head lettuce will suit all your salad needs. You could really make something amazing with all of these veggies. Try roasting veggies in olive oil and herbs, like carrots, cabbage, and potatoes, letting them cool and tossing them over fresh salad.

These red potatoes are soft and creamy when cooked, crisp to perfection when roasted and a lovely ingredient for a summer favorite - potato salad! Pair that with the awesome fresh celery and you’ve got a delicious dish.

The truth is, I’m not a big fan of using the oven when the temps in the kitchen are already exceeding 80 degrees. So, I understand if you feel the same way. In that case, consider saving your potatoes for cooler temps by storing them in a paper bag in a cool, dark environment.

It’s tomato season! Get them while they’re here. Seriously, it’s peaking now, so for all of you tomato sauce-making folks, this is the time!

Wishing y’all a great weekend!
