Week #7

This week’s half share features: salad mix, string beans, sugar snap peas, zucchini, summer squash, and carrots.

You can never had too much salad (in my opinion). But, seriously, check out these gorgeous photos from farmer Devin. She has such an artistic eye and captures the lush fields with a distinct perspective that brings us right to the beauty of the space.

The first string beans of the season are always such a gift. We love to chomp on them raw, roast them in the oven, or sauté them with whatever dish we have going.

Monarchs are enjoying life on our farm these days. Sort of unrelated to this incredible shot from Devin, I felt it to be necessary to share this Carrot Cake recipe. Because it is seriously awesome. I’m not a big sugar in my cake kind of person, so I substituted the sugar inside the cake for about 3/4 cup of maple syrup. I also used 1 cup of whole wheat flour and 1 cup of almond flour. It was sublime. Hope you get a chance to try it out!
